the august km, has an article entitled, "you can witness informally!
" this week's service meeting will cover half of the 13 questions.
next week, congregations will finish the article along with a box full of several experiences with successful results from informal witnessing.
Have any of you ever tried these suggestions or similar?
No, never will. It seems a bit false.

Loose conduct (Greek, a?sel′gei?a) denotes “licentiousness; wantonness; shameless conduct; lewdness of conduct.” The New Thayer’s Greek-English Lexicon defines the Greek term as “unbridled lust, . . . outrageousness, shamelessness, insolence.” According to another lexicon, loose conduct is a form of behavior that “violates all bounds of what is socially acceptable.”
As the foregoing definitions show, “loose conduct” involves two elements: (1) The conduct itself is a serious violation of God’s laws, and (2) the attitude of the wrongdoer is disrespectful, insolent.
Therefore, “loose conduct” does not refer to bad conduct of a minor nature. It pertains to acts that are serious violations of God’s laws and that reflect a brazen or boldly contemptuous attitude—a spirit that betrays disrespect or even contempt for authority, laws, and standards. Paul links loose conduct with illicit intercourse. (Romans 13:13, 14) Since Galatians 5:19-21 lists loose conduct among a number of sinful practices that would disqualify one from inheriting God’s Kingdom, loose conduct is grounds for reproof and possible disfellowshipping from the Christian congregation.
i listened to this half hour show this morning, it's about to be repeated tonight (9:30pm 26/08).
i highly recommend listening to this powerful account - the institutions may be different but the emotional resonance is compellingly familiar.. nic'.

just wondering what some of your opinions are on this scripture???
its one that has been thrown at me time and time again when i talk of my decision to leave the 'organization of god'.
as i would not be gathering together with his people and therefore forsaking the gathering of myself together..... (if ya get me!)..
The race that we run is in the opposite direction to the worlds. We must support and encourage one another through mutual witness (quote not mine)!
Surely, whatever the Christian faith you attach yourself to; you have to take this to mean that you need to spend time with like minded people, those on the same spiritual journey. The New Jerusalem bible renders the verse “do not stay away from the meetings”.
Some would say that being on this forum is in fact gathering together!
aside from a song or two at the memorial the last few years, i haven't been exposed to any kingdom songs in a long time (5+ years) yet certain lyrics keep popping into my head quite frequently.. "there is joy in the service for all, it's the work jesus did you'll recall".
"soon there'll be great banqueting in which the meek will share, this good news of the kingdom let us preach".
"on many occasions god spoke long ago by means of his prophets on earth here below".
When I was a kid we used to make up the lyrics (still do sometimes).
Once with confusion our sad hearts were filled, when we drank whisky our fathers distilled.......take sides with Jehovah....make him your delight etc etc.
Nobody likes the new songs, singing them is painful, so we don't!
i just thought that i would share an observation regarding par 3 of this weeks wt study.
the paragraph says in part " jehovah's witnesses find genuine refreshment through up building christian fellowship".. .
i am wondering if any readers / posters on this forum that still do or used to attend meetings have any thoughts on this.

I am wondering if any readers / posters on this forum that still do or used to attend meetings have any thoughts on this. I was just thinking as I got to this point in the article that this really is not the case for me and sometimes for my family. I usually come home from a meeting feeling fed up, discouraged and irritated. I find that there is more gossip and "clicks" than in any other gathering that I attend, be it social or work related.
BTY For any that will remember a previous post of mine re. my first study project on "spiritual light", all is going well and thanks for all that have helped so far.
the children are hungry, .
it's a horrible situation there.. please help if you can.. have a great day, .

Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has claimed that local and foreign donors are not providing adequate aid for victims of the country's worst floods because of the lack of credibility of the Pakistani government, which he branded as "corrupt". "It is an issue of credibility. The Pakistan People's Party-led government is corrupt and no one trusts it," he said.
Speaking at an iftaar dinner for donors of the Shaukat Khanum Hospital last evening, the Tehrik-e-Insaaf party Chairman said expatriates and foreigners had approached him and asked him to receive funds from them for the flood victims.
"They told me they have fears that if they deposit money in the government's relief fund, the amount will not reach the deserving," he said.
Giving for this fund (in the UK) is well below the funds raised for other disasters in recent years.
i would like to see variety of suggestions.
thank you!.

Oh, and cheese.
2 nice ladys called on me the other day , as one started her "speach" the other one looked embarresed , i interupted and said to the embarresed one "you know why im not interested in your religion ,dont you " she replied "yes im sorry i couldnt rember which one you lived in " (i had met her at my door some months ago , and explained that my daughter was raped as a child by a man i had met at the kingdom hall , and some jws support him despite him abusing other jws etc , i had told of the paedpphile problem in the religion and my jw inlaws dont visit my little girl because her daddy is a disfellowshipped man , which i think is very unchristian) the other lady then started admiring my dress , then my little girl appeared and she said how pretty she was etc, i said goodbye and closed the door , i wish i had heard what the 2nd lady had said to her friend in explanation for why i was not interested !
the annoying thing is my little girl then wanted to know who they are and what did they want to talk about , so i explained they were in "that religion that grandma is in "that stops her coming to see daddy , which upset her , then hubby came back from work later in a good mood untill i told him of the visit that had upset our little girl and then he was moody with me and said "dont talk to them again , next time tell them to be made a "do not call " for ever and never ever review it !is it possible to do that in our situation ?
i dont want my family life upset .
Don't know what went wrong there
